Backpack for Kids Program Duties and Responsibilities \nCoordinate all aspects for Kid's Program to include: \n\n* Networking with school administrators in Bismarck, Mandan and Lincoln\n* Maintain a contact list of school personnel\n* Order needed food items for backpacks including bread, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, cereal/fruit bars, canned dinners, pudding, fruit cups etc\n* Recruit and supervise volunteers to pack and deliver food backpacks\n* Organize deliveries to the schools on a bi-monthly basis\n* Public speaking to various organizations, churches, civic groups and other groups to promote the program and obtain monetary donations and needed food drives\n* Ensure food area is clean and organized\n* Maintain a contact list of all donors to the program\n* Follow-up with thank you letters to all donors in a timely manner\n* Maintain and recruit volunteers\n\nFood Pantry Program Duties and Responsibilities \nOversee all aspects of the agency Food Pantry to include:\n\n* Establish a process for clients to access food baskets through walk-in or by appointment \n* Meet with clients and complete required application and obtain income verification\n* Maintain a filing system that includes client intake form, release of information as needed, and income verifications\n* Enter data into agency CAP60 system in a timely manner\n* Advise supervisor of food items that need to be purchased for the pantry shelves \n* Complete thank you letters for panty pantry food donations and monetary donations in a timely manner\n* Work closely with other agency staff to assist in meeting the needs of food pantry requests\n* Work closely with Building Maintenance staff to ensure shelves are stocked and food is stored properly and meets City and State Health Safety codes\n* Establish a rapport with various food vendors, donors and other help centers\n* Work closely with Great Plains Food Bank and oversee deliveries from the recovery truck\n* Oversee and recruit volunteers to assist in stocking shelves \n* Monitor dates of food to ensure that items are distributed before expiration to avoid waste \n* Monitor temperature of freezers and coolers daily \n* Remove items from shelves that are dented or expired \n* Treat all persons with dignity and respect \n* Maintain client confidentiality \n* Attend meetings and or training as assigned \n* Become certified in food safety when class is available \n* Other duties as assigned by Associate Director or Executive Director
