Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in an outside environment or in industrial building areas. Exposure to low and high equipment noise, chemical fumes, and potential electric and mechanical hazards.
Field conditions outdoors are varying weather conditions,
Walking on changing ground surfaces.
Work underground in trenches, excavations, tunnels and sewer systems.
Climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated surfaces.
Heavy equipment operators work irregular or odd hours in outdoor work sites, the work hours depend on the weather conditions.
Operators are exposed to a work environment which comprises heat, cold, dust, rain and noise.
The heavy equipment operator is to have a strong physical ability and strength to carry out the daily strenuous activities.

Special Requirements
Aptitude and ability to complete both 10-hour OSHA and 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.
Subject to drug screen at any time and without notice.
Take pre-employment and annual physical examinations certifying ability to perform the essential job functions.


The heavy equipment operator is responsible for demolition, cleaning and maintaining sites for the removal of equipment, structures and buildings. The operator must be familiar with project plans, specifications and safety requirements, able to work safe and recognize work place hazards. Heavy equipment operator responsibilities include operating, cleaning, maintaining and servicing the equipment in accordance with manufacturer requirements.

Primary Responsibilities (may include some or all of the following)
Perform work safely in accordance with company and site safety procedures.
Prepare daily JSA’s.
Operate equipment safely.
Report any unsafe work condition or practice to supervisor.
Responsible for keeping site and grounds clean and neat.
Load and unload scrap and debris into trucks and roll off boxes.
Clear and prepare work areas.
Perform daily equipment checks.
Servicing and maintenance to machinery
Inform and advise the supervisor of needed repairs or maintenance.
Safe and efficient operation of equipment.
Demolition of equipment, buildings and structures, separation of rubble and debris, loading and hauling in proper containers to waste/recycling facilities.
Maintain a steady flow of dump and return boxes for rubble and debris.
Respond to signals and directions by the staff and work in coordination with them.
Perform other duties, as and when assigned
